這不代表感知是虛假的。
它代表感知是一個主動形成的過程。
外部輸入提供資訊。
身體與神經系統則參與判斷哪些訊號重要、哪些可以忽略,以及哪些需要進一步回應。
Prediction|預期的作用
神經系統不只回應已經發生的事情。
它也會根據既有資訊,預期下一刻可能發生什麼。

因此,OROCOR Axis 不以 regulated、hyperaroused、freeze、shutdown 或 collapse 將人永久分類。

Regulation|調節
Regulation 不是永遠保持低喚起、平靜或放鬆。
調節能力包含:
需要行動時可以動員

能在活動與恢復之間轉換
原有預期可以根據新訊息更新

Insight 與身體狀態

Emotion|情緒
情緒不是由神經系統單方面製造的固定輸出。
它可能同時涉及:
身體內部訊號
外部情境

Neural Axis 可以影響情緒被感受到的強度、範圍與持續方式。

Attention|注意力

Perception Is Not a Direct Copy of the World

A person does not first receive a complete objective representation of the world and only afterward begin to think and feel.
Before an event becomes clearly available to conscious recognition, the nervous system is already participating in the processing of:
sensory input
internal bodily signals
previous experience
present context
allocation of attention
expectations about what may happen next
preparation for action and response
Human experience therefore depends not only on what happens externally.
It also depends on how the body receives, anticipates, selects, and responds to information.
Perception is not a direct copy of the external world.
It emerges through the continuing relationship among environment, body, nervous system, and experience.
Neural Axis
Neural Axis does not refer to a single anatomical structure.
It is not identical to the central nervous system, autonomic nervous system, or any individual nerve.

The Nervous System Is Not the Sole Determinant of Reality
The nervous system participates in shaping how a person perceives the world, but it does not independently determine reality.
Human experience is influenced by:
external events and environmental conditions
sensory signals
internal bodily state
memory and previous experience
attention
expectation and learning
language and culture
interpersonal and social context
conscious judgment and choice
available action
Neural Axis does not claim that everything is created by the nervous system.

Perception
Perception is not passive reception.
The nervous system processes incoming sensory information together with prior experience and present expectation.

an ambiguous sound may be interpreted differently across contexts
the same facial expression may feel welcoming or concerning
the same bodily sensation may be interpreted as excitement, fatigue, or threat
the same environment may be experienced differently depending on light, sound, temperature, and relationship
This does not mean that perception is false.
It means that perception is actively formed.
External input provides information.
The body and nervous system participate in determining which signals receive priority, which can be ignored, and which require further response.
Prediction
The nervous system does not only respond to events that have already occurred.
It also uses available information to anticipate what may happen next.
This capacity supports the ability to:
recognize familiar situations quickly
act when information is incomplete
prepare bodily responses
direct attention toward potentially relevant signals
adjust behaviour through experience
Prediction is not inherently a problem.
It is part of perception, learning, and action.
Difficulty may arise when a system continues to rely on the same expectations even as new information becomes available.
Neural Axis does not seek to eliminate expectation.
It concerns whether the system remains able to:
receive new bodily feedback
recognize that conditions have changed
update previous expectations
avoid interpreting every ambiguous signal in the same way
reassess the present after a response
Safety and Threat
The body continuously evaluates environmental and internal conditions.
Some evaluations become clearly available to conscious awareness, while others begin before deliberate attention.
Safety and threat are not decided by one neural switch.
They may be influenced by:
actual environmental conditions
sensory signals
pain and physical discomfort
previous learning and memory
sleep and fatigue
interpersonal relationships
predictability
the capacity to act
the availability of choice, stopping, or leaving
Neural Axis does not interpret all discomfort as a mistaken threat response.
Some environments are genuinely unsafe, and some bodily signals require medical or practical attention.
Stabilization does not persuade a person that they are safe.

Neural State
Neural State describes a temporary regulatory condition.
It is not a personality, identity, or permanent nervous-system type.
A person may experience different degrees of:
vigilance and mobilization
focus and action preparation
tension and defense
fatigue and reduced energy
numbness or distance from sensation
rest and recovery
openness and exploration
These states are not always separate and do not necessarily occur in a fixed sequence.
OROCOR Axis does not permanently classify people as regulated, hyperaroused, frozen, shut down, or collapsed.

Regulation
Regulation does not mean remaining permanently calm, relaxed, or in a low-arousal state.
Regulatory capacity includes the ability to:
mobilize when action is required

transition between activity and recovery

regain a sustainable position after change
Neural Axis stability therefore does not mean the absence of fluctuation.

Insight and Bodily State
Neural Axis should not create a false opposition between insight and bodily regulation.

Insight may:

create new action possibilities

Understanding alone does not always automatically change a long-established bodily response.

Emotion
Emotion is not a fixed output independently manufactured by the nervous system.
It may involve:
internal bodily signals
external context
memory
interpretation
expectation
interpersonal relationships
culture and language
available action
neural and physiological regulation
Neural Axis may influence the intensity, range, and persistence of emotional experience.
It cannot independently explain all emotion or reduce emotion to neural error.
Emotion may carry meaningful information.
Stabilization is not intended to make emotion disappear. It supports greater space to recognize, carry, and respond to emotion.
Attention
Attention is neither completely free nor entirely determined by neural state.
Under higher regulatory load, attention may be drawn toward:
sudden change
uncertainty
pain or bodily discomfort
incomplete demands
possible conflict
signals previously associated with danger
This narrowing of attention may be protective.
If it persists, other bodily signals, environmental information, and possibilities for action may become less accessible.
As load decreases, attention does not automatically become clear.
The system may, however, regain greater choice in how its resources are allocated.
Awareness
Within OROCOR Axis, Awareness does not refer to a spiritual rank, transcendent condition, or prescribed state of consciousness.
It describes the capacity to perceive:
what one is experiencing
what the body is signaling
what is occurring in the environment
which responses may reflect previous expectations
which choices remain available
where one is positioned in the present
When Neural Axis carries higher load, this perceptual range may narrow.
A person may remain capable of thought and action while finding other bodily signals or action possibilities less accessible.
Stabilization does not automatically create clear awareness.
It establishes conditions through which awareness may become less completely occupied by one response pattern.
Coherence
Coherence is not a permanently regulated neural state.
It does not mean that every emotion, thought, or bodily response remains smooth.
Within OROCOR Axis, coherence describes a relationship in which:
bodily signals can be perceived
neural responses can change with context
attention is not continuously occupied by one demand
awareness has access to more present information
action does not remain chronically opposed to internal state
the system can reorganize after change
different layers do not remain organized in conflicting directions
Coherence is a whole-system relationship among body, nervous system, awareness, and environment.
It is not produced by Neural Axis alone.
